Celebrating the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible

in the churches of the Scarrowbeck Benefice

3rd July to 14th August

beginning with Group Eucharist at 10.00 on 3rd July at Thwaite Church

 

            INGWORTH CHURCH  – Introduction to the trail, includinga Children’s Trail

 

            ERPINGHAM CHURCH – From scroll to book – early Bible manuscripts

 

            CALTHORPE CHURCH – Printing changes things – the Bible from Wycliffe to Tyndale

 

            ALDBOROUGH CHURCH – The making of the King James Bible

 

            THWAITE CHURCH – Taking the Bible around the world

 

            ALBY CHURCH – Bibles since the King James version

 

From July 31st to August 14th - which includes Open Churches Week, (6th - 13th August), there will be

a FLOWER FESTIVAL at Thwaite Church and  TEAS will be served at Erpingham Church  on Sunday July 31st and Sunday August 7th from 2pm to 5pm and on Saturday August 6th from 10am to 5pm. CAKE AND PLANT STALL as well.

We recommend following the trail in the order above, but all the churches’ displays stand on their own and any one of them would be worth a visit if you haven’t time to visit them all!                 For further information please ring 01263 768073 or 768209
